Pedro Duarte was born in Porto in 1973. He graduated in Law from the Portuguese Catholic University and later completed a Master’s in Economics and Management, an MBA in Management and a PhD in Development Studies. He served as Secretary of State for Youth, Member of the Portuguese Parliament and member of NATO’s Parliamentary Assembly. After 13 years in leadership roles at Microsoft Portugal, Pedro Duarte returned to public life in 2024 as Minister for Parliamentary Affairs. Since November 2025, he serves as Mayor of Porto.
