Before joining the Defence sector in 2021, Miguel specialized in innovation and communication project management, having worked at a think-tank, private firms, and an engineering center in the automotive, mobility, energy, and regional development sectors. He also served as Communication Advisor at the Minister of Finance’s office. He holds a degree in Economics (1999) and an MSc in Economics and Management of Science & Technology (2004) from ISEG. Miguel also earned an MBA from The Lisbon International MBA (Nova SBE/Católica Lisbon) in collaboration with MIT Sloan (2010).
